Aggies Get Stunned, Chambliss Cooks LSU, Beamer's Getting the Can

#2 Georgia 45, Arkansas 17

The Dawgs opened their SEC schedule against the worst team in the conference and did exactly what you expected. Kirby always talks about how you have to run the ball and stop the run to win in SEC games, and Georgia did both to perfection. QB Gunner Stockton led the team with 97 rushing yards, and the Dawgs piled up 254 as a team, averaging six yards per carry. Arkansas managed just 17 rushing yards, a whopping 0.9 yards per carry. Even with a 28-point win, there were some struggles, especially the pass rush. Georgia was last in the SEC in sacks last year, and on Saturday the pass rush looked just like last year, so hopefully it improves as the season goes on. The pass blocking wasn't the best either, but I trust this offensive line to play much better in the coming weeks. Arkansas football has never been lower, and the fans have already had enough of head coach Ryan Silverfield. They're right. For some reason, Silverfield played two QBs on Saturday even though the starter, KJ Jackson, was playing well. Their coach is an idiot. He talked all about how the Georgia WRs were driving 900 MPH, but on Saturday it was the Dawgs RBs running 900 MPH through his defense. GO DAWGS and piss off Silverfield. I can't wait to see your ass fired in a couple of years.

Kentucky 31, #9 Texas A&M 21

Kentucky got dominated by Bama in the second half, but this week the Wildcats were the ones who dominated the second half. They outscored the Aggies 21-0 in the third quarter, and QB Kenny Minchey had himself a day, throwing for 252 yards and two touchdowns with only four incompletions. The Kentucky ground game was a problem for A&M as well, with RB CJ Baxter rushing for 87 yards and two touchdowns. Aggie QB Marcel Reed might just be the most overrated QB in college football. He has struggled mightily since the back half of last year, and his two interceptions on Saturday pretty much cost A&M a chance to win. What a start to Will Stein's tenure in Lexington, as he picks up one of the best Kentucky wins of all time in just his third game. The Aggies are in for a very long season, and they'll have their hands full next week in Baton Rouge.

#10 Alabama 50, Florida State 36

With how poorly the Seminoles have played to start the season, it was a shock to see them come out so hot. QB Ashton Daniels was slinging it to WR Duce Robinson, and RB Ousmane Kromah made some plays as well. Even with FSU up 21-6, the Tide was too much. Bama's offense absolutely rolled over the Seminoles, and QB Keelon Russell, who struggled some in the first two games, was elite on Saturday. He threw for 320 yards, ran for 56, and accounted for four total touchdowns. The Crimson Tide running game is finally getting much better after a terrible year last year, with four players topping 50 rushing yards. WR Ryan Coleman-Williams, if he catches the ball, will be a major problem for any defense Alabama plays. This looks like the best team Kalen DeBoer has had in his three years in Tuscaloosa. Surprisingly, Florida State played really well, but three turnovers will never get you a win in Bryant-Denny Stadium. Mike Norvell's time is coming to an end very soon.

Mississippi State 41, South Carolina 34

Both teams needed this win early in the season and the Gamecocks choked it away. Like Marcel Reed, QB LaNorris Sellers is one of the most overrated players in college football. He played well in the first half, but the two terrible picks he threw in the second half handed the Bulldogs the win. On the other side, MSU QB Kamario Taylor continues to look like one of the best players in the country. He threw four touchdowns and torched the Gamecocks defense in the second half. The Bulldogs passing attack is fantastic, and so is their run game, as RB Fluff Bothwell ran for 115 yards at over five yards per carry. Mississippi State plays a very tough schedule, but there isn't a team on it that they can't beat. This loss could end up being the reason Shane Beamer gets fired. Even the fans were chanting for him to be fired late in the game, and it won't get any easier with Alabama on the road next weekend.

Florida 44, Auburn 39

This was the first time these two teams had met in Jordan-Hare since 2011, and it turned into a surprising shootout. The Gators offense under OC Buster Faulkner is going to be a problem. QB Aaron Philo looks consistent and polished, and RB Jadan Baugh looks like the best RB in the country, running for 162 yards and three touchdowns at just over six yards per carry. This UF WR room is also one of the best in the country. Auburn's offense looked better than it did against Baylor. QB Byrum Brown had a pretty decent night, throwing for three touchdowns and leading the team in rushing. Both teams passed the ball well, but only Florida was able to stop the run. Auburn's defense has been great under DC DJ Durkin, but the Gators cooked it. The game was really over late in the third quarter, and a couple of garbage-time touchdowns made the final score look closer than it was. This will be another year where Auburn fights just to make a bowl game. The Gators, on the other hand, are a playoff-caliber team in Jon Sumrall's first season.

#8 Ole Miss 32, #7 LSU 24

This was one of the most anticipated regular season games of all time, since everyone wanted to see Lane Kiffin's return, and it did not disappoint. The Rebels dominated the first half. Trinidad Chambliss couldn't miss on third down, and Kewan Lacy was running the ball well, while Tigers QB Sam Leavitt couldn't throw at all. It looked like the game was over at halftime. The second half belonged mostly to Lane Kiffin and LSU. The Tigers ran the ball great, Leavitt started making good throws, and he made some insane plays on the ground too. Meanwhile, Ole Miss's offense struggled, Chambliss didn't look like himself, and the loss of Lacy was showing. I thought LSU was going to win once they tied it at 24, but Trinidad Chambliss proved me wrong. He showed why he is the best QB in college football and why he should be the first QB taken off the board on draft day, passing the Rebels down the field and then running it in for the game-winning touchdown. Chambliss is quickly becoming one of the greatest stories in college football history, considering he was playing D2 football just two years ago. This game was fantastic, and both teams looked like playoff teams.

Other Thoughts
Texas Tech is once again the team to beat in the Big 12.
NC State vs. Vandy was the craziest ending I've ever seen in college football.
James Franklin will make Virginia Tech good again.
Dabo may have saved his job.
Louisville is the only team in the ACC that could maybe challenge Miami.
Deion Sanders is a terrible coach.
West Virginia is a sneaky team in the Big 12.
