Dawgbone Jr's Top 10 Plays from a Memorable Season
Videos of Dawgbone’s Top 10 Plays of 2025
10. Bama’s Ty Simpson Gives Up Against the Dawgs Defense
In the third quarter of the SEC Championship, Alabama was already down 21-0 when QB Ty Simpson rolled out of the pocket and slid straight to the ground in front of Quintavius Johnson. This play perfectly showed that the Crimson Tide had no chance of beating the Dawgs for a second time this season.
9. Noah Thomas’ TD Against Mississippi State
The Dawgs were already dominating the Puppies, but a 64-yard touchdown pass to Noah Thomas put the cherry on top. Thomas showed off incredible run-after-catch ability, making this by far the best play of his short career in Athens.
8. Ellis Robinson’s INT Against the Nerds
In an ugly game for the Dawgs offense, the defense needed to step up, and Ellis Robinson delivered. His diving interception on a deep ball from Haynes King was the play of the game and was reminiscent of the picks Malaki Starks made in Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
7. Zachariah Branch’s TD Against Tennessee
With Tennessee already up 21-7, the Dawgs offense desperately needed a spark. Branch delivered on a third-down screen pass, taking it to the house and cutting the lead to seven. This touchdown put the Dawgs right back into the game.
6. Gunner Stockton’s Superman Dive TD Against Auburn
The Dawgs trip to Jordan-Hare was anything but easy, as they trailed for most of the game. Gunner Stockton entered a flow state late, making big plays down the stretch, including a diving touchdown run. With Cam Newton’s jersey number being retired that night, it was only fitting that Stockton superman-dived into the end zone.
5. Cole Speer’s Blocked Punt Against Alabama
Alabama has clearly had the Dawgs’ number in the past, but a blocked punt by Cole Speer made this matchup feel different. This play helped spark what turned into a dominant performance from Georgia.
4. Josh McCray’s 4th-and-1 Run Against Ole Miss
Down 35-26, the Dawgs needed the offense to keep rolling, but Ole Miss had Georgia in a fourth-and-one situation. The Dawgs ran a dive up the middle with McCray, and the Rebels met him in the backfield. McCray muscled his way forward for the first down, and if he does not pick it up, Ole Miss wins the game.
3. Chauncey Bowens’ Game-Winning TD Run Against Florida
Florida held a 20-17 lead late in the fourth quarter and looked poised to beat the Dawgs for the first time since 2020. Chauncey Bowens had other plans, ripping off a 36-yard touchdown run to give Georgia the lead. Bowens instantly became a Georgia legend with this run.
2. Peyton Woodring’s Onside Kick Recovered by Cash Jones Against Texas
In one of the biggest games of the season, the Dawgs had just taken a 21-10 lead over Texas on a touchdown pass to London Humphreys. Kirby Smart got aggressive and called for an onside kick, which was recovered by Cash Jones. Georgia scored again on that possession and sealed the win, beating Texas for the third time in three years.
1. London Humphreys’ TD Against Tennessee
Tennessee was on the doorstep of knocking off the Dawgs for the first time since 2016. The Vols led 38-30 with just over two minutes remaining and had Georgia facing a fourth-and-six. Stockton delivered a perfect pass to London Humphreys at the pylon to tie the game and force overtime, where the Dawgs went on to beat Tennessee for the ninth straight time. This play will go down as one of the biggest moments in the rivalry’s history.
